But not great.
There were things I liked, and things I didn't.

I understand why a lot of people would like it.

But It doesn't seem like you pulled off what you were doing very well.
I mean, the animation was fine and everything.
But the story didn't seem very well thought out, or played out.
The character designs were alright in most ways.
But I think you could've made something better.
Maybe if you didn't work around the music it would've worked better.
Although it was a nice effect, it didn't give the greatest idea of the animation.
It made the animation kinda unfocused.

You should also have used a less cliche song.
As this one is very commercial, and overused.

it seemed like you brought nothing new to the table with this animation.
Leaving me wondering why it got front page.
I'm not saying it doesn't deserve it.
I'm just wondering "why?"

I think you could've collected your thoughts better while putting this together.
Or maybe gone a different path, while still keeping the same theme.

Overall I think this was alright in a lot of places.
such as animation, character design, and backgrounds
But I think you could've done better with story, song choice, and transitions

I hope you actually read this review, and not dismiss it as "BAD" because it's critique. Although I know someone will mark this as "useless" just because I have a voice.

And isn't that why we write these reviews? To review the good and bad of the animation? It seems like most reviews here are just mindless comments rather than actual reviews.

Anyway try to consider these things in you next animation.

hey thanks for the review.
ur right, this animation lacks story it was really just an excuse for me to try some fun animation.
and yes, I worked around the music but when making a music video a lot of the action has to fit in with the tone of the song, whether i did this too much i dunno, i guess i did in your opinion. I chose the song because its cliched, i wanted something recognisable of the disco era but hey if you dont like the song thats fine.
In any case, i thank you for taking the time to write this.

[The Stick Generation]

this was pretty much a noob collab

because this is what people see stick animation as, it gives it a bad name. The animation was alright in some places, awful in others. But don't say "Stick flashes should never be taken seriously" as there are a lot of great stick animators out there, like terkioz or lf2. Some people are also better off animating sticks, rather then animating badly drawn people. I for one started out animating sticks.

omg. guys below me, you're dicks. I thought it was awesome. and no, it was not a storyboard, it just wasn't inbetweened. and if it were to have been, it would have taken forever. it has awesome angles and I think it was awesome. just because an animation isn't smooth doesn't mean it's not good.
